7 WAYS RESPONSIBILITY MAKES YOU MORE PRODUCTIVE

If you embrace responsibility it has the power to transform your life. However many people run from it. To become more productive, you must harness the power of this word. You are responsible for how your life turns out. Without responsibility you will not amount to anything. Just think of any activity, project or task given to a group of people, you can only get results when someone is held responsible. Otherwise the job will not be done.

Becoming responsible or irresponsible is a choice. Let’s look at how the decision to become responsible can impact your life and your job.

Responsibility is a wake up call

Being responsible helps you to stay focused, to do that task or project without your usual human desire, which wants to pass the blame of failure or shortcomings to others. Responsibility is a wake up call to step up and be held accountable. Deciding to be responsible releases latent power inside. You may be amazed at how much you can achieve by merely deciding to quit fooling around, and hold yourself responsible for your state in life. Taking responsibility jolts you to the reality of the things in your life that must change, if you would amount to anything in life or become worthy to be reckoned with on the job.

Responsibility gives you power to focus

The power to achieve your sole purpose in life is released by choosing to be responsible. Things that you took for granted before and blamed others for, now become apparent to you. Accepting this revelation, gives you the zeal to assume your rightful place. It enables you to stay focused, thus giving you speed to pursue those things, which you hitherto shelved responsibility for. It enables you, to become a new person determined to give your best, on any pursuit you put your mind to, as a result of which you will succeed.

Responsibility makes tasks seem light

Burdens that you would gladly cast on others before your new found decision to be a responsible person, is what you now gladly bear. Tasks that loomed large before, you now see as light. Your new mindset, has given you a fresh perspective of where to put the blame, and changed your thought about failure and tasks. Operating on this new way of thinking, enables you to see tasks as honorable, and complaints as simply cheating yourself. You have made a 360 degrees about turn, to accept your new reality whether good or bad.

Responsibility doubles your productivity and you enjoy tasks

The mark of a productive person is to attack any task or project like a bulldog after a bone. In this frame of mind, projects once started must be completed. Decision to attack projects like a bulldog, doubles your productivity and you actually enjoy making a huge contribution wherever you operate. Being held accountable for results, makes you more creative, as you seek for ways of doing things better and faster. Accepting responsibility, dramatically changes you completely. You have quit the league of those that blame others for their condition in life, to those that know that their destiny is in their own hands not in any person or condition.

Responsibility puts you in leadership position

A leader is one that takes the lead, and makes all decisions, and takes both the glory for any achievement or the blame for any failure, to perform up to par. It might have been a team that got the job done but where there is negative feedback, the leader gets blamed.
As you step out to lead, the gravity of your choice and the heavy load of responsibility, are not lost on you. In fact you welcome this new role with relish, as you take the driver’s seat of your life and assume fool control of your destiny. Whether you go up or down is up to you, as you are now fully responsible. When you step out to lead, you experience a big mental shift, that tells you your former life of blaming others for all your troubles and woes have finally melted away.  You are a new man, flying free and unfettered by vicissitudes of the times anymore. You are now a leader fair and square.

Responsibility earns respect and love for you

Imagine if a person with a wrong mentality, of seeing others as the cause of all their bad experiences in life, was made a Team Leader that would be disaster waiting to happen. In fact whoever appointed them would regret doing so as things unfold. The team members, just knows they were on their own. If this happens, it will stifle ideas and advancement on the job.
But if a person, that assumes responsibility, leads a team, the team knows he or she would assume responsibility for their mistakes on the job, hence their zeal to do their best was a foregone conclusion. The team leader would also earn their love and respect for really being a responsible team player.

Responsibility facilitates breakthrough ideas and advancement

An atmosphere of creativity is unleashed when you choose to be responsible. You the leader, would find the best and the fastest ways of getting the job done. As for your team, they become more creative and more daring on the job. An atmosphere of ingenuity is released where almost on a daily basis breakthrough ideas would manifest. Because of the freedom given to your team members, to try new ways of doing things under your able watch, they would give their best at all times earn more profit and become more productive.

Conclusion

Leading is a difficult thing to do when there is a disaster or crisis situation, but be rest assured that taking responsibility is the most expedient way to become more productive. Think about it, nothing good ever came without people standing out to be held accountable for it. To become more productive in your life and on the job, learn to live responsibly.
